"The Ritual was built from the drums up, initially as a soundtrack for a friends poem. I liked the repetition and minimalism of melody, stripped back to allow atonal vocals create a haunting quality.

The song is about the Murdoch empire, the power exerted and the faith created as we consume media on a mass scale through our phones, in print and online. Murdoch has had a detrimental affect on some of the key events to happen during my life: phone hacking, political corruption, climate denial, election of successive Tory governments and the king making of some of the most abhorrent people in modern society.

I wanted link his legacy to this ritualistic consumption of media. He is the dog in the corner of the room, camouflaged like a snow fox."
